Richard Chaplow wants to repeat his Championship Powerade Player of the Month award for August every month - just to keep best pal Neil Mellor out of the spotlight.
Chaplow and Mellor have both been in top form as Preston North End hit the ground running with three wins from their opening four league games.
Midfielder Chaplow, 23, started the campaign with a bang, scoring twice in his first three games on his way to the award.
As well Alan Irvine's North End riding high in the Championship, Chaplow is also pleased to be keeping his mate Mellor in the shade.
He said: "Neil's a close friend of mine and he always gets a bit of stick from me if he does an interview. So I've got one over on him with this!
"Talking to people around the club, the manager was up for an award. Whoever is getting the awards, it only means we're doing well and hopefully I can get a few more than Neil.
"But seriously, if he gets one I'll be delighted for him. I got a phone call straight away from him wishing me well and congratulating me."
Life is sweet for Chaplow as he gets used to life at Deepdale after a frustrating spell at West Bromwich Albion.
He struggled to get regular action at the Hawthorns but now loves being a big part of Irvine's first team - even though he comes from a family of Burnley fanatics!
And that has meant his dad Chris, a big supporter of the Clarets, having to cheer him on for North End.
Chaplow added: "My family are all Burnley fans and I still support them. It's just nice that the Preston fans can put that to one side and get behind me for being a Preston player.
"Even my dad who is a big Burnley fan wants me to do as well as possible, - although not against Burnley.
"As long as I have a good game, he's happy with that. When I signed for West Brom he became a part-time Baggies' fan, and now he's had to become a part-time Preston fan.
"I'm really chuffed with the award. When I found out I was on the shortlist of four it was nice enough to be nominated but to win the award I'm really pleased."
