Peterborough United have announced the appointment of Mark Cooper as their new manager.

The former Birmingham City player has left his post at Blue Square Conference high flyers Kettering Town to replace Darren Ferguson who left London Road earlier in the week by mutual consent.

Cooper has signed a three and half year deal and takes his Poppies' number two, Nicky Eaden, with him to assist him at Peterborough.

Their first match in charge of Posh will be against Sheffield United in the Coca-Cola Championship next Saturday.
