Nottingham Forest have signed defender Nicky Shorey on loan from Aston Villa.
The 28-year-old, who has been capped twice by England, has joined the Coca-Cola Championship side until the end of December and will make his debut in Saturday's visit of Doncaster Rovers', in place of the suspended Chris Cohen.
Forest boss Billy Davies told of his delight at the capture: "I've admired him since his days at Reading and followed his progression through to the national side. Nicky is a fantastic addition to the squad" he told www.nottinghamforest.co.uk.
All transfers and loan deals are subject to clearance by the Football League.
