DERBY DAY
Doncaster Rovers host local rivals Sheffield Wednesday and the hosts will be looking for a repeat of Saturday's performance, which saw them beat Crystal Palace 3-0 at Selhurst Park.
Sheffield Wednesday on the other hand go into the game without a win in seven matches, having lost five and drawing two. The Owls currently sit one place and one point above the relegation zone and Manager Brian Laws is ready to keep on shuffling his pack to turn around his side's fortunes.
Speaking to
www.swfc.co.uk he said: "I will be making changes on Tuesday, there is absolutely no doubt about that, because we are trying to find the right formula and the right personnel who will come through this.
"Confidence is low, that's clear, and the only way to get that confidence back is by getting a win. It's purely about confidence at the minute, which players are coping well and which players aren't and putting that formula together to get that win."
BASEMENT BATTLE
Ipswich Town face Peterborough United with both sides desperate for the points to try to escape the relegation zone. Roy Keane's side are unbeaten in their last eight matches and have picked up 12 points along the way and ahead of tonight's first ever league match with Peterborough United he is looking for revenge.
"We lost to Peterborough in the Cup, which was disappointing. We certainly don't want to lose to them again," Keane told the Ipswich Evening Star.
"They've had a change of manager since then, but the spirit is there because they've scored a couple of late goals recently and they also missed a penalty at Sheffield United.
"I don't know much about their new manager (Cooper), but he's earned his chance coming up from non-league."
Mark Cooper is still looking for his first win since taking charge at London Road but after draws against Middlesbrough and Swansea City in their last two matches the boss is hoping for a change of mindset.
Speaking to Peterborough Today he said: "I'm not sure we believe we can win games. We were much the better side in the second half and we could have been 2-0 or 3-0 up before Swansea scored their first goal.
"And when you are at the bottom of the table and you miss the sort of chances we had you sort of know what's coming.
"It's what happens when you are not used to winning matches. You get nervous and you often get punished.
"The players have to believe in themselves like I believe in them. "
TOUGH TRIPS
Nottingham Forest have gone about their job quietly and an unbeaten run stretching back 11 matches has seen them move up to third in the Championship table.
Tonight they travel to Bramall Lane to face a Sheffield United side desperately seeking points to help them move back amongst the promotion chasers. They currently sit 11th in the Championship table but only three points off the top six and after three wins on the bounce this should be a cracker and it's one Forest boss Billy Davies is looking forward to:
"We know what to expect at Bramall Lane, we know what crowd they have got, what the environment holds and the way they go about it.
"But it does not matter, we have got to be confident and, with this bunch, there is no doubt we can be a real thorn in the side of many teams."
Derby County have had a difficult start to the season, with just six wins from their first 18 matches and with no victories on the road tonight's trip to Preston North End could be a tricky one.
North End sit just three places above Nigel Clough's side after a recent run which has seen them fail to win in their last six and after tough trips to Watford, Blackpool and Cardiff City Manager Alan Irvine is looking forward to home comforts:
"It's always better playing at home than away from home," he told
www.pne.com.
"We realise that our home form in the past has been very good, it's great to be back and it's been a while since we've won so hopefully we will be able to get two good results in the next games at Deepdale."
