BOUNCEBACKABILITY

Crystal Palace bounced back from their home defeat by Doncaster Rovers, at the weekend, by beating Reading 4-2 at the Madejski Stadium.

Neil Warnock's side conceded three at home on Saturday but took just seven minutes to open the scoring against the Royals thanks to defender Nathaniel Clyne. Alex Pearce equalised for Reading just after the half hour mark but their joy was short-lived as both Darren Ambrose and Victor Moses scored in injury time, at the end of the first half. There were some nervy moments when Gylfi Sigurdsson netted from the penalty spot, with 10 minutes to go, but the points were secured on 88 when Moses scored his second of the night.

Blackpool got back to winning ways in fine style, with a 3-0 win away at Middlesbrough.

The Tangerines were on the wrong end of a 2-1 home defeat by Barnsley on Saturday, while Boro put five past Queens Park Rangers. Tonight though the game belonged to Gary Taylor-Fletcher who scored on 21 and 26 to set Ian Holloway's side on their way. Charlie Adam completed the scoring on 83 minutes with his eighth goal of the campaign

CARDIFF MARCH ON

Cardiff City followed up their win over Preston North End with all three points against second placed West Bromwich Albion.

Chris Burke, who scored the only goal at the weekend, opened the scoring on 18 minutes. Things went from bad to worse for the home side on 82 when Scott Carson was sent off and City were awarded a penalty. Substitute keeper Dean Kiely saved the initial spot-kick from Peter Whittingham but he put in the rebound. Newcastle United, who play Coventry City on Wednesday could go seven points clear with a win at the Ricoh Arena.

DERBY DAY BLUES

Sheffield Wednesday are still looking for their first win since October 17th after going down 1-0 at Doncaster Rovers.

Billy Sharp, who is on loan from Sheffield rivals United, scored the only goal of the game on 78 minutes and the result leaves Wednesday out of the relegation on goal difference from Ipswich Town, who drew 0-0 with Peterborough United.
