Mark Cooper has parted company with Peterborough United after just 79 days in charge at London Road.

A statement on the club's website said: "After meeting with the Manager, Peterborough United and Mark Cooper are parting company with immediate effect following the termination of his contract.

"The football club would like to thank Mark for his professional and dedicated service during his time at London Road and wish him and his family all the best for the future."

Cooper replaced Darren Ferguson in November but won just once, that coming against Watford in December.

The club currently sit bottom of the Coca-Cola Championship, 11 points from safety, with just 18 points.
