Reading fans received recognition for their loyalty last week as the club slashed its season ticket prices and Manager Brian McDermott wrote a message to Royals fans to thank them for their continued support since he took the reins at the Madejski Stadium.
Writing to season ticket holders, McDermott - who has transformed the club's fortunes since taking control at the end of 2009 - explained that "as supporters, you have been absolutely fantastic from the day I took over as manager in December.
"You should not underestimate the impact a loyal, supportive and loving set of fans can have on a player's performance, a team's confidence and a club's success.
"I feel there is a great bond developing between you the supporters and our players. We really need your encouragement to make the 2010/11 season the success we all hope it can be."
McDermott's message came just days after the Berkshire club announced significant reductions on the price of all season ticket renewals for the 2010/11 campaign.
Adult prices have dropped by £50 with 16 and under tickets reduced to just £99 and 65 and over as well as 17-21 season tickets both being cut by £20.
"We are very grateful for our season ticket holders' continued loyalty and have reduced prices in recognition of their fantastic support," said a club statement.
"Renew before 5pm on Friday 4th June to guarantee your seat and take advantage of the biggest possible discount."
