The Football League once again demonstrated its global appeal during this month's summer conference in Malta as Leeds United Chairman Ken Bates held a Q&A session with the 'Real Leeds Malta International Members Branch' on the Mediterranean island.

Taking time out from the conference and AGM in the town of St Julian's, the Chairman was joined by CEO Shaun Harvey and United legend Peter Lorimer for a 'Leeds On The Road' night with a difference.

Over 70 members from Malta grabbed the opportunity to put questions to the club's hierarchy before enjoying a BBQ under the stars.

"It was a wonderful evening and was very well attended," said the United Chairman. "We had a good question and answer session.

"There were plenty of questions about players and where we are going as a club. They're delighted to know the progress we are making as a club."

It's not the first time United have headed overseas for On The Road events. The club makes regular visits to Ireland and, twice last season, members of the coaching and management staff met members of the Dubai Whites for an informal evening.

Closer to home, Norwich Whites became the 55th Regional Members Club branch this month, and with five more potential new RMCs in discussions, the Members Club continues to grow.
