Watford Manager Malky Mackay has been named npower Championship Manager of the Month for March.

Mackay's side earned ten points during the month, thanks to wins against Millwall, Sheffield United and Ipswich Town, and a draw at Swansea City.

Former Charlton Athletic boss Alan Curbishley chairs the npower Manager of the Month judging panel.

He said: "Malky celebrated signing a new contract with another fantastic month in the npower Championship.

"Two strong home wins, and an emphatic victory at Portman Road, have left the Hornets with an outside chance of making the Play-Offs."

npower Head of Sponsorship Emma Collins said: "Watford have been playing some good football under Malky Mackay.

"With a strong finish to the season, they could still be in with a shout of taking a Play-Off spot.

"I'd like to congratulate Malky on winning the award, and wish him and the team the best of luck for the rest of the season."

In League 1, Brighton & Hove Albion boss Gus Poyet was named npower Manager of the Month.

The npower League 2 Manager of the Month Award went to Aldershot Town boss Dean Holdsworth.

The judging panel comprises former Charlton Athletic Manager Alan Curbishley, Sky Sports Football League expert Peter Beagrie, Football League Chief Operating Officer Andy Williamson, BBC Sport's Mark Clemmit, League Managers Association Deputy CEO Olaf Dixon and npower Head of Sponsorship Emma Collins.
