Academy striker Bernard Mensah has signed a three-year professional contract with Watford.

The 16-year-old will complete his two-year scholarship before automatically becoming pro on his 17th birthday on December 29th.

Mensah has been at the club since he was 11 and is a pupil at The Harefield Academy.

Nick Cox, Watford's Head of Academy, said: "This is fantastic news for the Academy, particularly for The Harefield Academy project.

"Not only is he a talented footballer but he has a fantastic attitude and he's a nice person to be around.

"We like to produce well-rounded young men."
