Each week the Official Football League website will bring you the Team of the Week. Produced by the Press Association, the Team's of the Week feature the eleven top performing players from each division from this weekend's matches.
A goal and an assist from the influential Adam Lallana helped Southampton to the top of the npower Championship table on Sunday and helped Lallana earn a place in the divisional team of the week. The Saints' best start for over a 100 years saw them leapfrog Middlesbrough who went top on Saturday thanks to Marvin Emnes's solitary strike at Crystal Palace, with team-mate Matthew Bates' part in another clean sheet also recognised.
A clean sheet for Kasper Schmeichel helped Leicester City beat previous leaders Brighton and Hove Albion 1-0, earning Schmeichel and left back Paul Konchesky their places in the team of the week. Liam Rosenior also played well in his side's 1-0 win over Portsmouth while Reading centre half Alex Pearce helped the Royals pull out of the relegation places with a 2-0 win at home to Doncaster Rovers.
Jeff Hendrick earns his place after scoring Derby County's winner over Nottingham Forest while Adam Clayton also scored as Leeds United beat Bristol City 2-1 at Elland Road.
Don Cowie was Cardiff City's scorer in the 1-1 draw with Blackpool while the Team of the Week is completed by Emile Sinclair of Peterborough United who scored both goals as the Posh beat Burnley 2-1.
