Bristol City have announced that Steve Wigley has left the club by mutual consent.

Wigley joined the Robins in August 2010 as Keith Millen's assistant and was appointed caretaker manager for two games last month following Millen's departure.

The club have since appointed Derek McInnes as their new manager, but Wigley has opted to leave the club.

Chairman Colin Sexstone told the Robins' official website: "Steve was very much part of Keith Millen's backroom team and feels now the time is right to move on.

"We thank him for his contribution to the football club and wish him well for the future."
