Doncaster Rovers striker Billy Sharp has been named npower Championship Player of the Month for November.
Sharp scored four goals in five games, including an incredible strike at home to Middlesbrough just three days after the death of his two-day-old son.
Rovers boss Dean Saunders said: "Billy is a model professional. He has got through a bad month off the pitch by applying himself to his football.
"He has showed his mettle by helping his team-mates and doing what he does best."
Sky Sports' Football League expert Peter Beagrie sits on the npower Player of the Month judging panel.
He said: "Billy decided the best way to pay tribute to his son Luey Jacob was to play and score against Middlesbrough.
"I'm sure that will be the most memorable goal of his career, no matter how many more he goes on to score.
"This award salutes a magnificent player, whose focus and goals have helped lift his team off the bottom of the table."
npower Head of Sponsorship Emma Collins said: "Billy and his family have had an incredibly difficult month.
"But he has risen above it all and showed what a marvellously loyal and dedicated person he is.
"On behalf of npower, I'd like to congratulate Billy on this award."
The judging panel comprises Sky Sports Football League expert Peter Beagrie, Football League Head of Communications John Nagle, BBC Sport's Mark Clemmit and npower Head of Sponsorship Emma Collins.
