Bristol City striker David Clarkson has been ruled out for the rest of the season with an ankle fracture.

The Robins forward sustained the knock in training last week and X-rays have confirmed the extent of the injury, which will leave Clarkson in rehabilitation for the remainder of the term.

City manager Derek McInnes told the club's official website: "It's a massive disappointment for Clarky."

He added: "The tests have shown a fracture on his ankle and that puts him out for the rest of this season."
