Brighton manager Gus Poyet hopes his side have learned from their mistakes when they head to Blackpool on Saturday.

The Seagulls were leading Blackpool 2-0 at the Amex Stadium in August, but were pegged back thanks to two goals from veteran striker Kevin Phillips.

"It's going to be tough for us but we have got to take positives from the game earlier in the season," said Poyet.

"We drew that game when it was in our own hands and we have got to remember they have good players.

"They have players who can change a game at any time, and of course that includes Kevin Phillips.

"We didn't do the basics against him in the last game and we conceded a couple of goals. We can't let that happen again."
