Peterborough have handed professional deals to teenagers Charlie Coulson and James Sage.

Midfielder Coulson, 16, became the second youngest player in Posh's history to represent the club when he made his first-team debut as a late substitute against Watford last weekend.

Coulson will put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half year deal, which includes the option of a further 12 months, the day he turns 17.

Defender Sage, 17, has signed a two-year contract having travelled with the club's first-team squad to recent games.

Ferguson told Peterborough's official website: "I am really excited about Charlie. He is a very good footballer. Everyone will be aware just by looking at him that he needs to bulk up physically, but he has all the attributes I like in a footballer.

"James has improved massively and fair credit to the boy for that. He has got better and better and when he has trained with the first team he has looked comfortable. He can play left-back or centre-back, but I think he is better at centre-back."
