Former England goalkeeper David James is among eight players to have been told he can leave Bristol City.
The npower Championship club announced their retained list on Tuesday, with the 41-year-old ex-Liverpool stopper, capped 53 times by his country, the stand-out name.
Joining him was Scotland international Jamie McAllister, who sees his six-year stay at Ashton Gate come to an end after the Robins decided against offering the defender a new deal.
Fellow Scot David Clarkson is on his way out, while Jamal Campbell-Ryce, who has been on loan at Leyton Orient, will also be seeking a new club.
