Coventry could soon be attracting investment interest from Chinese businessmen.
Former Sky Blues vice-chairman Gary Hoffman, who oversaw an unsuccessful takeover bid last August, continues to be on the lookout for investors in the cash-strapped club which is currently owned by SISU, although relegation to League One has made his task harder.
And his attempts have now taken him to the Far East, through consultant Ken Grant who has hands-on experience of the Asian market.
Grant told the Coventry Telegraph: "I am pleased to confirm that we are actively involved in an attempt to secure new investment into Coventry City Football Club and Arena Coventry.
"If successful it is anticipated that the investors, ultra net-wealth Chinese nationals, will wish to secure 100% of the football club and 50% of the Arena.
"If our determined efforts, which have been nobly supported by Gary Hoffman and Joe Elliott, conclude in success we have every reason to believe that this will represent a new dawn for the future of Coventry City Football Club."
