Bolton Wanderers have been relegated from the Premier League on the final day of the season after being held to a 2-2 draw at Stoke City.
The Trotters needed a win, coupled by Manchester City beating Queens Park Rangers - which the Citizens achieved in a dramatic finale at the Ethiad Stadium - to keep them up.
Goals from Mark Davies and Kevin Davies overturned Jonathan Walters opener for the home side to put them on course for the result they required at half-time. However, Walters struck again, this time from the penalty spot, 13 minutes from time to ensure a share of the spoils and more significantly, to relegate Bolton.
Wanderers join Blackburn Rovers and Wolverhampton Wanderers in the npower Championship next season.
