Leeds defender Aidy White has revealed the win against Wolves on the opening day of the season fuelled the desire in the dressing room ahead of Tuesday night's npower Championship clash with Blackpool.

United travel to Bloomfield Road on the back of Saturday's 1-0 win over the demoted West Midlands side as boss Neil Warnock bids to maintain momentum and lead a side to promotion for the eighth time in his career.

"A win like that gives you confidence," White told the club's official website. "Hopefully we can get a result at Blackpool then at Peterborough. They're both difficult games but you want to kick on from that first one now.

"There is a desire not to be beaten. You look around the team and you look at the player next to you and you want to be strong and be hard to beat, and that's the main thing.

"If you can pick up results and not concede goals - I know that's pointing out the obvious and it's easier to say than do - but the gaffer has brought in some excellent players and we have a good squad here."

In contrast, Bolton captain Kevin Davies has called for a dramatic improvement ahead of Wednesday's clash with Derby after the Wanderers were caught out against local rivals Burnley at the weekend.

Owen Coyle's side fell to a 2-0 defeat at Turf Moor on their return to the second tier but Davies expects a higher work rate when they host the Rams at the Reebok Stadium. "We have to pick ourselves up quickly," Davies told the Bolton News. "There is no time to dwell or sulk with the games coming up thick and fast."

Sheffield Wednesday have been given a boost ahead of their match against Birmingham at Hillsborough after they signed a new Spanish striker.

The Owls have secured the services of 22-year-old Rodri from Barcelona B on a season-long loan, subject to international clearance.

In the other games, Brighton host Cardiff, Middlesbrough play Burnley, Bristol City entertain Crystal Palace, promoted Charlton face Leicester and Huddersfield take on Nottingham Forest. Wolves will look for their first win at home to Barnsley, Peterborough play Millwall, Watford take on Ipswich while Blackburn meet Hull on Wednesday.
