Middlesbrough striker Marvin Emnes will be given every chance to shake off an ankle injury ahead of Saturday's npower Championship clash with Crystal Palace.
The 24-year-old Dutchman missed Tuesday night's 3-2 victory over Burnley with the problem he picked up at Barnsley, but could yet return at the weekend.
Manager Tony Mowbray told the club's official website: "It's a wait-and-see scenario."
He added: "We took the gamble to leave him on the pitch at the weekend because he can make a difference for us.
"The protective boot is no longer on his foot. Let's hope he has half a chance for the weekend."
Emnes might not be the only change to Boro's line-up, with Mowbray saying: "Behind the scenes, we're trying to add a player or two, so let's see what the weekend brings."
