Charlton have completed the signing of former England under-20 international goalkeeper David Button on a two-year deal from Tottenham.

The 23-year-old has suffered from a lack of first team opportunities at White Hart Lane, having made just one start in seven years.

Having spent loan spells with 11 different clubs in that time, Button has now made a permanent move, becoming Addicks manager Chris Powell's sixth signing of the summer.

Powell told the club's official website: "We are really happy to bring David to the club.

"He's someone we've been monitoring for quite some time and is a hugely talented young keeper who is a good age and boasts all the right attributes.

"This represents a new chapter for him and it's great that he feels it's the right time to make this move and further develop here at The Valley."
