Derby goalkeeper Frank Fielding believes the club could have done without the international break.

The Rams beat Watford 5-1 to complete their first win of the season before the week off, frustrating players who wanted to continue building momentum.

Fielding believes Derby now need to push on over the next six games to make the start to the season a successful one.

"After such a resounding win against Watford, we felt the international break came at a bad time for us," Fielding told the club's official website.

"But now, with three games in quick succession in the next week or so and three more after that, we've got a real chance to kick on and make our reasonable start to the season a really good one.

"We have won one of our first four, but we've only lost one as well so we're looking at the positives and given the fixtures we've had our start has been a steady one."
