Crystal Palace manager Dougie Freedman feels new signing Danny Gabbidon will bring some much-needed experience to his young side.
Freedman snapped up 33-year-old defender Gabbidon on a free transfer after his release by QPR over the summer, although he will not be rushing the Wales international into his starting line-up.
"We need experience around this place, there are a lot of games in this division and they come thick and fast," said Freedman.
"A lot of squads seem to be getting stronger and we feel the Gabbidon deal is a good one for us.
"He's an experienced player and he's been fantastic in training the last couple of weeks.
"He's maybe another 10 days away from being fully fit but he brings experience that we can use."
