Peterborough striker Dave Hibbert has returned to action for the first time in almost two years.

The 26-year-old fractured a kneecap during a FA Cup win over Stockport in November 2010. He subsequently suffered knee ligament damage which lengthened his absence.

Hibbert played 45 minutes of a reserve-team friendly against the Nike Academy at the Posh training ground on Wednesday afternoon. Hibbert stood out in his run-out as a strong Peterborough team were held to a 1-1 draw.

Posh needed a late equaliser from Nathaniel Mendez-Laing after Lee Frecklington missed a first-half penalty. Posh goalkeeper Joe Day also saved an Academy spot-kick.
