Manager Derek McInnes has issued a rallying cry to the Bristol City supporters to get behind his team.

The Robins were beaten 2-0 at Leicester on Saturday, leaving McInnes' side with just one win from their last seven games.

But the Scot believes his players are moving in the right direction, and need the backing of the Ashton Gate faithful to help elevate them from their current position of 17th in the npower Championship table.

McInnes told the Bristol Post: "We need more confidence. We have to work extremely hard as a group, stay tight and show our collective responsibility.

"Our supporters also have a part to play in that. It is important we stay together and work hard to get the best out of the boys.

"We get around each other here and we don't castigate people and point fingers. I would say there is still work to be done, but there is also a lot of optimism."
