Nottingham Forest boss Sean O'Driscoll hopes the international break will provide Daniel Ayala with a chance to recover from his hamstring injury.

Ayala, who is on loan at the City Ground from Norwich, was withdrawn at half-time during Forest's 1-0 win at Peterborough on Saturday.

As they spotted the problem early, O'Driscoll is optimistic the Spanish centre-half will be fit when his side resume npower Championship action against league leaders Cardiff at the City Ground on October 20.

"He had a hamstring problem and they can be difficult issues to solve," said O'Drsicoll.

"But, if you can catch these things early - and particularly when you are going into a two-week break - you are better for it.

"Rather than missing him for six weeks, we should now be okay. It is an area of the side that we still need to strengthen, but it was just a precaution. Daniel should be OK when we come back now."
