Greg Halford has quashed the idea Nottingham Forest's recent slump affected confidence at the City Ground.

A 1-0 win over Peterborough last Saturday ended a five-game winless streak for Sean O'Driscoll's side, which included defeats to Leeds and Derby. But right-back Halford, a permanent fixture in Forest's XI this season, insists the dressing room atmosphere did not change despite the poor run of results.

"The mood never really changed - everybody is confident in their own abilities, despite the bad patch we have gone through recently," he told Forest's official website.

"Every team goes through a run like that at some stage - hopefully ours is now behind us and we can push on up the table.

"Confidence is high and we're looking forward to transferring that into the Cardiff game."
