Birmingham captain Steven Caldwell has given his public support to manager Lee Clark.

The Blues have lost six of the 12 games played since the former Newcastle midfielder took over at St Andrew's, leaving the Midlands club fourth-bottom of the npower Championship.

But the Scottish defender has made clear that the players and management at the club are on the same page about what is required to achieve success this season.

Caldwell told the Birmingham Mail: "He's an honest guy and that's what you hope for in your manager. You want someone to tell you how it is and explain his reasons for making decisions.

"He's a very passionate man and I've got a lot of time and respect for him as a person and as a manager.

"He's looking at himself, thinking about what he could have done better. But the good thing is he's got a group of players that are thinking the exact same thing."
