Wayne Hennessey made his long-awaited return from injury on Monday night as Wolves' Under-21 side registered an impressive 3-2 win over their Chelsea counterparts.
The Wales international goalkeeper had not played competitively since April's goalless draw at Sunderland where he sustained a torn cruciate ligament.
But after months of rehabilitation and having made his return to full training, Hennessey enjoyed 45 positive minutes between the sticks for Wanderers' Development side before being replaced as planned at half-time.
Wolves twice took the lead against Chelsea through Sam Whittall and Liam McAlinden but, having twice been pegged back, McAlinden grabbed victory with his second of the game midway through the second half.
Hennessey will now look to get more minutes under his belt for the second string before being considered for first-team action.
