Crystal Palace moved in to third in the npower Championship by beating Blackburn Rovers 2-0 and Glenn Murray scored both goals and six points. With new manager Ian Holloway watching on from the Selhurst Park stands, Murray put the Eagles ahead in first-half stoppage time before doubling their advantage from the penalty spot.

Craig Mackail-Smith also scored a brace worth six points as Brighton and Hove Albion drew 2-2 with Leeds United on Friday night. The industrious striker converted a penalty to give his side the advantage after 16 minutes and grabbed a second following the interval. Will Buckley was awarded both assists and four points.

Six points was a popular points tally in Phones 4U Fantasy Football this weekend and two Derby County players reached the mark. Theo Robinson and Paul Coutts were both instrumental in the Rams' comprehensive 4-1 win over managerless Blackpool. Striker Robinson scored two goals, while midfielder Coutts picked up three assists.

A 4-1 win at Charlton took Middlesbrough up to second and Grant Leadbitter finished the encounter with four points to his name. Leadbitter crossed for Jonathan Woodgate's equaliser and was involved when Richard Smallwood completed the scoring. Fernando Forestieri and David Ngog scored five points each for a goal and an assist apiece.
