The penalty specialist scored twice from the spot, and even missed a third effort from 12-yards, as the league leaders Crystal Palace crushed Ipswich Town 5-0 on Tuesday night.

Birmingham City front-man Marlon King was one point adrift with eight after scoring against Bristol City and Blackburn Rovers. King was involved in both of the goals Birmingham put past the Robins, registering a goal and an assist, before grabbing an equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Blackburn, four minutes after Ruben Rochina had put the hosts ahead.

Charlton Athletic got the better of Cardiff City 5-4 in a thriller at The Valley in midweek and Johnnie Jackson scored six points. The Tykes captain was on target twice in the first half, while Salim Kerkar also recorded six points for three assists. Danny Haynes netted twice in two games for another six points haul.

Leeds United were reduced to nine men on Saturday and Watford took full advantage, running out 6-1 winners at Elland Road. Matej Vydra plundered two goals for six points, while Mark Yeates and Sean Murray were awarded five points apiece. Tom Ince, Stephen Dobbie and Heidar Helguson all finished the game week with six points to their names.
