Wolves have lodged an appeal with the Football Association against Christophe Berra's red card at Watford.
The npower Championship club are claiming wrongful dismissal after the centre-back saw red for "denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity".
Berra was dismissed 25 minutes into Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Vicarage Road following a tussle with Troy Deeney.
Referee Graham Scott allowed play to go on, resulting in Deeney getting in a shot on goal, but then went back and showed Berra the red card.
Wolves will be submitting both written and video evidence to support their claim, and a decision is due before the weekend's game against Nottingham Forest.
