The nominations for the npower Championship Manager of the Month award for December have been announced.

They are as follows:-

Steve Bruce (Hull City)
The ex-Manchester United defender had a December to remember as he guided Hull City to five wins and a draw in the month. Only a goalless draw at home to Leicester City denied Bruce a perfect record, but the Tigers' stellar form shot them into the automatic promotion places and just five points behind league leaders Cardiff City.

Mick McCarthy (Ipswich Town)
Having moved the Tractor Boys out of the drop zone in November, Mick McCarthy consolidated Ipswich Town's recovery in December with a series of determined performances. 13 points from a possible 18 ensured that the Suffolk club moved away from trouble, finishing 2013 eight points clear of relegation.

Malky Mackay (Cardiff City)
Despite suffering a surprise home defeat at the hands of Peterborough United, December proved to be another great month for Malky Mackay's outfit. Five wins out of their five remaining December fixtures ensured that the Bluebirds extended their lead at the top of the table. Having narrowly missed out on promotion so many times in recent years, it now looks increasingly likely that Cardiff City will be joining their Welsh rivals Swansea City in the Premier League.

The winners will be announced on Friday live on Sky Sports News, from 10am.
