James Vaughan scored the only goal against former club Crystal Palace as managerless Huddersfield recorded their first win in 13 npower Championship matches.

The Norwich loanee, who previously had two spells on loan at Selhurst Park, netted midway through the second half to give Mark Lillis and Steve Eyre a victory in their first league game in joint-caretaker charge.

It means the Terriers, who parted company with Simon Grayson a few days after the 4-0 loss to Watford, move up to 16th and eight points clear of the relegation zone.

Palace missed out on the opportunity to climb into second place and they now have just one win from their last nine league matches.
