There are times in every season when things just don't work out for even the best teams, and a manager needs to reassess which players deserve a place in their starting line-up.

Fantasy football managers know this only too well and must not be afraid to get rid of the deadwood in their squads in the constant search for points and prizes.

During the past week, Phones 4u Fantasy Football coaches have lost faith in Brighton and Hove Albion defenders and have been quick to find new homes for Gus Poyet's charges.

There are three of the Seagulls' stoppers among the most five transferred out players for the free-to-play fantasy football game, namely Bruno Saltor, Wayne Bridge and Tomasz Kuszczak.

Spanish defender Saltor has only just returned to action following an injury and is the most sold player from last seven days, finding himself on the wrong side of 4.4% of transfers.

Kuszczak and Bridge are close behind, although the former England left-back is still the second most selected defender and has made his way into 28.3% of teams.

Brighton may still be in the hunt for a Play-Off place, but they've gone three games without a win and four without a prized clean sheet.

Their most recent clean sheet was only their second since November and the 3-1 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday last time out was clearly the last straw for Phones 4u Fantasy Football supremos.

Defensive duo Wes Morgan and Matthew Connolly are the most popular replacements for the unwanted Albion trio and have been involved in 6.4% and 6% of incoming transfers respectively.

There are 30 transfers available for the season, with up to five of them available to use in a month, and it's not surprising that so many precious team changes have been spent on Morgan and Connolly.

Morgan and his Leicester City team-mates have enjoyed five wins in a row and combined for three clean sheets from their past six outings.

The Foxes' form has been worth 14 points to Morgan from six games and that means he's now the second highest scoring defender in the game.

Meanwhile, the fantasy points have been flooding in for Connolly thanks to leaders Cardiff City going seven games unbeaten, keeping five clean sheets in the process.
