The nominations for the npower Championship Manager of the Month award for January have been announced.

They are as follows:-

Sean Dyche (Burnley)
Only a reverse at home to Birmingham City denied Sean Dyche's men a perfect month in the npower Championship. Impressive away form was the backbone of Burnley's solid month with good wins coming on the road against Sheffield Wednesday and Millwall, while a home victory against promotion-chasing Crystal Palace highlighted the Clarets' Play-Off credentials.

Nigel Pearson (Leicester City)
Four league wins out of four means that Leicester City's Nigel Pearson is a deserved front runner for this month's awards. Thumping wins against Bristol City and Huddersfield Town were supplemented with battling victories against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Middlesbrough. Though Cardiff City finished the month seven points clear of the Foxes, a remarkable 13 goals in four matches suggests that Leicester City still have title aspirations.

Gus Poyet (Brighton and Hove Albion)
While their giant-killing of Newcastle United in the FA Cup will likely rank as the club's monthly highlight, Brighton and Hove Albion's solid league form should not be overlooked. With two wins and two draws, Gus Poyet's men remain very much in the chase for a Play-Off place and while the popular Uruguayan is in charge, they'll be confident of achieving it.

The winners will be announced on Friday live on Sky Sports News, from 9am.
