Derby County striker Jamie Ward was the best performer in Phones 4u Fantasy Football, The Football League's official fantasy game, in February.

The Northern Ireland international scored 19 Phones 4u Fantasy Football points for his County displays after collecting five goals and two assists.

Ward was the Rams' main man in February and has played a part in all but one of the last eight goals Nigel Clough's men have mustered.

In fact, that was Derby's first goal of the month, meaning Ward has either scored or assisted every one of the Rams' last seven strikes.

The 26-year-old, who has only just returned from a three-month spell on the sidelines following a hamstring injury, has flourished after being encouraged to play closer to target man Conor Sammon.

Ward now has 11 goals and seven assists for the season, and a points total of 47 that makes him the 10th highest scorer in the game.

He only costs £800k to select in the game, but his exploits seem to have gone unnoticed among Phones 4u Fantasy Football managers because Ward's name doesn't appear on the lists showcasing the most selected and transferred players.

There are also some commendable points totals among the crafty forward's Derby team-mates, although Rams fans should be advised that the game won't let you pick more than three players from a club.

Sammon's haul of six goals and four assists is worth 26 points, a tally matched by Craig Bryson for four goals and seven assists - a record that makes him the 19th best midfielder.

An impressive collection of nine assists has seen Paul Coutts score 21 points, while Jeff Hendrick and Michael Jacobs are closing in on the 20-point mark.

It has also been a special month for Derby fan Matt Grundy after he guided his team 10 Men to the top of the Phones 4u Fantasy Football standings for February.

A late surge saw Grundy charge to the Manager of the Month summit and he'll be rewarded with a behind the scenes tour of Pride Park.

He'll also receive match tickets, £500 in cash and will be presented with a trophy at a Rams game.

It's never too late to enter Phones 4u Fantasy Football, the official fantasy game of the Football League.

Prizes are still available for the highest scoring team every month and you can represent your club in the Fans Championship.
