Striker Troy Deeney has pledged his future to high-flying Watford by penning a new three-and-a-half-year deal.

The 24-year-old, who has struck 14 times in 24 starts this season, was out of contract this summer but the Hornets have moved to quash rumours of his departure with this new deal.

Deeney joined Watford in 2010 and was named captain for Tuesday's victory over Sheffield Wednesday as both Manuel Almunia and John Eustace were missing.
