Peterborough have signed Stoke midfielder Florent Cuvelier on loan until the end of the season.

The Belgian, 20, has yet to play a game for the Potters but made 40 appearances for Walsall during two loan spells at the Bescot Stadium, scoring seven goals.

Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson told the club's official website: "He is a very good technical player.

"He can play anywhere in midfield, he is two-footed and I am pleased to have him here.

"We thought we could perhaps do something for next season, but obviously it has been accelerated because I have injuries to Davide Petrucci and Alex Pritchard, so that has made my mind up.

"I have spoken to (Stoke boss) Tony Pulis and thanked him for allowing us to get it done.

"He wanted to come here, he plays football the right way and I believe we will suit each other. He will go straight into the squad on Saturday for the game with Cardiff City at London Road."
