Middlesbrough's Jonathan Woodgate will be closely monitored ahead of Saturday's npower Championship clash with Brighton.

The defender, 33, left the pitch at half-time during the 1-0 defeat at Hull with concussion and his recovery will be assessed before manager Tony Mowbray names his team for the weekend.

Mowbray told the club's official website, www.mfc.co.uk: "Jonathan had concussion and was being sick at half-time on Saturday.

"He has been assessed by the doctors over the last few days, which is standard procedure with this type of injury.

"We will keep an eye on him and assess the position later in the week."
