Leeds manager Brian McDermott has appointed former caretaker-boss Neil Redfearn as first-team coach to work alongside assistant Nigel Gibbs and himself.

Redfearn, who took temporary charge for a second time at Elland Road following Neil Warnock's departure, had previously worked as the club's Under-21s/pro development coach, but new man in charge McDermott wants him to stay involved with the first team.

"I want Nigel and Neil to be together with myself," McDermott told the club's official website.

"(Under-18s coach) Richard Naylor and Leigh Bromby are here at the training ground as well and they're both good people.

"I hadn't met Richard before, but he's a good man. I'm really pleased with the whole environment to be honest.

"Everyone wants to go in the same direction and that's important.

"What I won't be involved in is a blame culture, moaning, or gossiping. I have no interest."
