Reading have signed USA international Danny Williams from Hoffenheim for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old midfielder will put pen to paper on a four-year contract when the deal is finalised on July 1.

Williams, who has 12 caps for the US, is Royals manager Nigel Adkins' third summer signing following the captures of former England left-back Wayne Bridge and ex-Real Madrid winger Royston Drenthe.

Director of football Nick Hammond said: "Danny is a versatile player, he possesses great energy and already has great experience in one of the top leagues in Europe.

"He is an international player and at 24 years of age still has plenty of development ahead of him, so we will be delighted to welcome him to the club.''
