Barnsley have signed former Oldham defender Jean-Yves M'voto

.M'voto, who left the Latics this summer, put pen to paper on a two-year contract at Oakwell on Tuesday morning.

The 24-year-old told the club's official website: "I'm very happy to be in Barnsley now. I heard about the move a couple of days ago. I had a talk with the manager, I like his project and everything he said. I just wanted to come to Barnsley."

M'voto made 123 appearances for Oldham - 49 of them last season - after joining the Lancashire club from Sunderland two years ago.

He began his career with Paris St-Germain and crossed the channel to Sunderland in 2008. The Frenchman appeared on loan for Southend and Oldham before joining the Latics on a permanent deal in 2011.
