Blackpool have signed striker Michael Chopra from Sky Bet Championship rivals Ipswich.

Chorpa underwent a medical on Wednesday and has put pen to paper on a one-year deal with the Seasiders with the option of a further 12 months.

The 29-year-old said on Twitter: "I Would like to thank Ipswich Town Football Club and their fans for the support they have given me in the last 2 years."

No stranger to scoring goals against Blackpool, Chopra started his career with Sunday's pre-season opponents Newcastle and had several spells with Cardiff prior to joining the Tractor Boys.

Chopra has scored 105 career goals, with 19 of those coming during his time at Portman Road.
