Charlton have completed the signing free agent goalkeeper Ben Alnwick.

The 26-year-old had his contract with Barnsley terminated by mutual consent before Monday's transfer deadline and has agreed a one-year deal at The Valley.

Alnwick, who has also played for Sunderland and Tottenham, will provide competition for current Addicks number one Ben Hamer and he should be in the squad to face Watford next Saturday.

Meanwhile, Charlton are also expected to announce the signing of former Crystal Palace youngster Kadell Daniel.

The 19-year-old defender tweeted: "Happy to announce I will be officially a Charlton Athletic player as of this week."
