Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies faces a Football Association charge of improper conduct.

The charge relates to the Sky Bet Championship fixture against Wigan at the DW Stadium on Saturday.

Forest lost the game 2-1 and Davies felt his side should have been awarded a second-half penalty when Chris Cohen went to ground after a tangle with Roger Espinoza.

The Scot's subsequent post-match comments about the incident have landed him in hot water with the FA.

A statement on thefa.com said: "The charge is in relation to an alleged breach of FA Rule E3 in that his language and/or behaviour at the end of the match amounted to improper conduct."

Davies has until 6pm on Friday to respond to the charge.
