QPR boss Harry Redknapp does not expect goalkeeper Julio Cesar to feature this season - even on the bench.
The Brazil international, 33, was expected to leave Loftus Road this summer but a move did not materialise before the transfer window closed a fortnight ago.
Yet Redknapp is sticking with Rob Green as his number one and again named youngster Brian Murphy among the substitutes against Birmingham on Saturday.
"Rob Green's been great, so he's in the team," said Redknapp.
"It's a difficult situation with Julio and I'm surprised no one came in for him. He's a world-class keeper.
"Murphy's also a good goalkeeper. And besides I don't know whether Julio wants to sit on the bench.
"His dream is to play in the World Cup in Brazil and I don't think this will affect his situation.
"The manager of Brazil thinks he's the number one man and I don't think anything that happens at QPR is going to change that for him."
