Birmingham City meet Bolton Wanderers on Saturday in the first of two televised games on Sky Sports this week.
Dougie Freedman's Trotters head into the 12:15pm start as one of only two Championship sides still in search of their first win, but they have drawn their last two outings - sharing the points with Yeovil Town and Blackpool.
The Blues have won two of their last three matches, including a 4-0 triumph over Millwall on Tuesday. Goals from Tom Adeyemi, Jesse Lingard and a David Murphy brace was enough to secure the three points which lifted Birmingham to 17th in the table.
Both of last season's encounters finished in favour of the home side as Birmingham were 2-1 victors at St Andrew's before Bolton ran out 3-1 winners in the reverse fixture.
Attention then turns to the second round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday night as Wolverhampton Wanderers host Notts County in front of the Sky Sports cameras.
Wolves needed a penalty shoot-out success to get past Walsall in the first round after the match finished 2-2, while Callum McGregor scored the only goal of the game as Notts County overcame Burton Albion.
The two clubs last met during the 2010/11 League Cup when Wolves recorded a 4-2 victory.
