Leicester City closed to within a point of Sky Bet Championship leaders Burnley with a 3-0 win at Watford.

Chris Wood got a fortunate opener as Manuel Almunia's clearance hit him in the face and rebounded into the net before Anthony Knockaert and Lloyd Dyer rounded off the win.

Burnley had to come from behind to claim a 2-2 draw at Millwall.

Scott McDonald and Danny Shittu had put the Lions two goals to the good, but Sam Vokes and a Shane Lowry own goal saw the Clarets earn a share of the spoils.

Sheffield Wednesday recorded their first win of the season with a handsome 5-2 home success over Reading.

Matty Fryatt and Michail Antonio had put Wednesday 2-0 up before Pavel Pogrebnyak got a goal back for the Royals.

A Sean Morrison own goal, a Connor Wickham strike and Fryatt's second put the result beyond doubt, with Adam Le Fondre's late penalty scant consolation for the visitors.

Queens Park Rangers remain third in the table after a 2-1 home win over Derby County.

Jermaine Jenas put the R's ahead only for Simon Dawkins to level before captain Clint Hill grabbed the winner.

Thomas Ince's missed penalty did not prove costly for Blackpool as the Seasiders secured a 1-0 win over 10-man Nottingham Forest.

Ince saw his first-half spot-kick saved by Karl Darlow after Djamel Abdoun had seen red for his foul on Neal Bishop in the area. But Stephen Dobbie struck late on to give the visitors the spoils.

Birmingham City slipped into the relegation zone as Dale Stephens got the only goal in Charlton Athletic's 1-0 win at St Andrew's while a Ross McCormack double gave Leeds United a 2-0 home victory over bottom side Yeovil Town.

Jason Lowe's goal was enough to see Blackburn Rovers beat Middlesbrough 1-0, while David Ngog and Jermaine Beckford struck as Bolton Wanderers were 2-0 winners at Bournemouth.

Nick Powell got the winner as Wigan Athletic beat Huddersfield Town 2-1 at the DW Stadium.

Leon Barnett put the Latics ahead before Oliver Norwood levelled for the Terriers but Powell made the decisive contribution four minutes into the second half.

Two late goals saw Brighton & Hove Albion wrap up a 3-1 win at Doncaster Rovers.

The Seagulls, who had not scored in their four previous away games, led through a Jake Forster-Caskey strike until Chris Brown levelled for Rovers. But substitutes Leroy Lita and David Lopez ensured the visitors took all three points.

Winger Jim O'Brien jumped off the bench to give Barnsley their first away point in a 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town side on Friday night.

Daryl Murphy had delighted the Portman Road faithful with his fourth of the season but Ipswich failed to build on their 41st-minute lead.

O'Brien equalised in the 70th minute and Barnsley were guilty of wasting some great chances to win the game before Ipswich left-back Aaron Cresswell was sent off on the final whistle for foul and abusive language as the game ended 1-1.
